Other times, other manners -Pindare

Bacon lists seven flaws that mark the study of theology:
Theology is so dominated by philosophy that sublime questions like the Trinity, the Incarnation and the Sacraments are discussed by borrowing the views of the main philosophers, their arguments and their distinctions. Now, philosophy has no right to a special authority outside its own domain; 2) The most interesting sciences, ancient languages, mathematics, optics ,  experimental sciences, alchemy that could help theology by allowing it to have a more adequate view of Creation, are totally neglected by theologians; 3) at the same time, theologians are generally ignorant of the secondary sciences they attempt to use, i.e. Latin grammar. Logic, physics in its simplest parts and a certain type of metaphysics; 4) the Sentences of Peter Lombard replaced the Scriptures
5) in the Vulgate, the text of the Scriptures is corrupted, so that,
6) the literal meaning of some passages is vague and accordingly,
7) their spiritual message is compromised by doubt and error.

Bacon, however, was much more than a simple critic. He only listed the errors of his time in an attempt to correct them. For erroneous knowledge and a slavish submission to the errors of the past, he wanted to substitute the understanding of the truth.

In Bacon’s mind this constituted a new method, an entirely different procedure for confirming the validity of propositions and assertions.

Accordingly, he advocated

1. The study of ancient languages so that the Scriptures and other authoritative works could be read in the original text;

2. The study of the higher sciences, mathematics, optics (physics), astrology,

and 3. The diligent use of the discipline (itself a science) of experimentation (scientia experimentalis).

Obviously, Bacon’s discussions on the interest of mathematics, of optics and even of his definition of the experimental method which places him among the great scientists, Sciencia experimentalis, according to him, is not only the best of the sciences , but it has confirmed or invalidated the old conclusions and consequently dominates them all.

This science has nothing to do with the arguments of logic, it rather tries to test by observation and experimentation, the value of the conclusions obtained with the help of other sciences. Experimental science accepts nothing in the order of creation until it has tested and proven the value of the collected evidence for the specific area of that evidence.
We cannot say at random that a dog breathes like a man, we must have observed the breathing of man and dog to reach such a conclusion.
And, in conclusion, since it is a question of Christianity, let us see a few verses on the parable of the wheat and the tares:

Matthew 13-40-43
38 the field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom; the tares are the sons of the evil one;
39 the enemy who sowed it is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; the reapers are the angels.
40 Now, as we pull up the tares and throw them into the fire, so will it be at the end of the world.
41 The Son of Man will send his angels, who will remove from his kingdom all scandals and those who do iniquity:
42 and they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Let him who has ears to hear hears.
The devil
👿 is not outside, but what man has chosen to create and feed by his free choice within him.

In Romans 14, The Precepts of Tolerance, the Apostle Paul did not say to accept the unacceptable. Here are some guides who had put their hands 🤚 in the plow and want to look back.

11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow before me, and every tongue shall give glory to God.

12 So each one of us will give an account to God for himself.

  1. 13 Let us therefore no longer judge one another; but think rather of doing nothing that will cause your brother a stumbling block or a stumbling block.
    And I will add: “Woe to him throug
    whom scandal comes.”
